Yes, it's 2-1.
For the first time in the history of Cricket, India retained the Border-Gavaskar trophy.
King Kohli lifts the Border-Gavaskar Trophy - 2019 |
On the historic day of 7th of January 2019, India ended up the 71 years of drought on the Australian soil. Virat Kohli and Company proved that "Victory is always possible for them, who refuses to stop fighting."
After the frustrating failures in tests in South Africa and England's tour, the Indian team was going through a lot of criticism and many questions were being raised on support staffs, team selection, & management by former senior players and cricket analysts.
But when you have a dauntless and bold captain like Virat Kohli, who cares. His army stood up and showed tremendous potential and whole cricketing world acknowledged their calibre.
Test series started in a very spicy manner. After 2 tests scoreline was 1-1. Despite missing two of their best players, Steven Smith and David Warner due to Ball tempering saga, Australia played really well.
"It doesn't matter, how you fall? how to come from it that does...". That's what the best test team in the world did amazingly and totally outplayed Aussies in the next two test matches.
Magnificent Mayank's masterclass, Pujara's "wall" avatar and true way of playing test cricket, "Babysitter" Pant's valuable knocks, Bumrah and Shami's ruthlessness, Kohli's brilliance as a captain and most importantly the effort of every team member and support staffs, all came at the right time and against the right nation.
This is not just a victory of the Indian cricket team, it is a victory of every Indian cricket fan, who supported their team blindly irrespective of the results.
So here are some of the best "Twitter Reaction" after India's test series win against Australia;
